Welcome to our International Kindergarten School in Bangkok where we focus on the healthy development and growth of your child. Our classes are enjoyed by children aged 2 to 5 years, split into three groups: Pre Nursery, Nursery and Reception.
We are based in the Primary building of the campus and have our own dedicated play areas and separate classrooms for all Early Years children.
At The Regent’s International School, Bangkok we recognise that each child is unique and our focus is on your child’s development. We strive to create positive relationships between staff, children and parents so that the learning environment is as safe and comfortable as possible.
We believe that creative learning is key to a child’s healthy development and therefore place emphasis on teaching through active play.
All teachers in Early Years are native English speakers and every class has an additional Teaching Assistant.
We follow the English Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS). Our learning community provides a strong start in education for the children so that they are able to manage the transition into Primary School.
By cooperating with the Primary School through whole school activities and contributing to community events the transition from Early Years to Primary is one that is easily made.
We observe each child’s progress and work hard to ensure that all children will have made language, literacy and personal development by the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
We encourage parents to be active throughout several Early Years activities. Our approachable staff welcomes any parental involvement as it can help their child’s integration into learning.
What we do in Early Years
At The Regent’s International School we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Here we provide a learning environment that is both fun and safe and focus on supporting the development of each child as we recognise the importance of developing a strong educational foundation.
We have three age groups in Regent’s Early Years: Pre-nursery, Nursery and Reception.
This is divided into seven areas of learning. There are three prime areas these are:
- Communication and language
- Physical development
- Personal, social and emotional development
As children grow the prime areas will help them to develop skills in 4 specific areas:
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
These areas are used to plan your child's learning which has been designed to suit your child's unique needs.
Children in the EYFS learn by playing and exploring, being active and through creative and critical thinking which takes place both indoors and outside.
At the end of the three years (which will be the end of reception) your child will have covered all of these points, fully preparing them for their next stage in education in Primary.
